§ 8.20.170. Sanitary landfill regulations.

A.

The city sanitary landfill is open to the public on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon of each week, except holidays. Closed to the public on Wednesdays, Sundays and all city-observed holidays.

B.

All solid waste delivered to the landfill for disposal must be securely covered by a tarpaulin, chicken wire or some other cover to prevent littering. An uncovered load of solid waste will not be accepted for disposal.

C.

Animal carcasses may be delivered to the landfill for disposal only at times specified by the landfill superintendent or landfill supervisor. A person wishing to dispose of an animal carcass must obtain a time for disposal.

D.

The foregoing regulations do not apply to a city employee acting in the course and scope of his or her employment nor to a solid waste collection contractor or employee of a solid waste collection contractor of the city acting in the course and scope of the contract.
