§ 6.10.010. Keeping wild animals.
A.
Except as provided in this section, a person commits an offense if the person keeps, maintains, possesses, or has under the person's control within the city limits any poisonous reptile or wild animal.
B.
It is a defense to prosecution under this section that the animal is kept or possessed in a zoological garden, circus or menagerie, provided that the animal is kept in a clean, sanitary condition in such manner as to prevent its escape.
C.
The city hereby adopts the provisions and standards of chapter 822, Subchapter E, Texas Health and Safety Code which regulates dangerous wild animals, as amended from time to time.
