§ 5.04.030. Permits—Classes.

  • A.

    The city council may issue a permit which authorizes the holder to possess and furnish alcoholic beverages not otherwise prohibited by law in a public park, playground or recreational area in the city.

    B.

    A class 1 permit authorizes the holder to possess and furnish, without charge to the holder's guests and invitees, alcoholic beverages not otherwise prohibited by law, during lawful hours on the date specified in the permit. A class 1 permit may only be issued for:

    1.

    A day which is a holiday recognized or declared by the Congress of the United States, the legislature of the state or the city council; or

    2.

    A day generally commemorated by any ethnic group in observance or recognition of a tradition or holiday in its country of origin.

    C.

    A class 2 permit authorizes the holder to possess and sell alcoholic beverages not otherwise prohibited by law, during lawful hours on the date specified in the permit. A class 2 permit may only be issued for a day on which a class 1 permit may be issued or another day approved by the city council.
