§ 2.52.030. Duties.

A.

The commission shall:

1.

Foster the development of the performing, dramatic, visual, and literary arts in the city;

2.

Provide advice to the city council to make use of the Grand Opera House as a cultural facility more appealing to residents of the city and to visitors; and

3.

Perform such other duties as may be prescribed by the city council.

B.

The commission shall not knowingly foster, encourage, or promote any performance or exhibition which includes obscene material as defined in Section 43-21, Texas Penal Code.
