§ 13.16.050. Gas rates.
The following uniform rates shall be charged to and collected from each consumer of gas during each month.
1.
Gas rates for consumer of gas within the corporate limits of the city.
a.
The rates residential consumers for year-round use of gas shall be as follows:
Minimum bill ..... $10.41
Rates per MCF for all MCF ..... $3.16
b.
The rate for heating only shall be $0.07 per MCF more than the rate for year round use of gas.
c.
The business rates shall be broken down into two categories, "small business" and "large business." Any commercial gas customer using on the average more than 150 MCF per month will be categorized as "large business."
Small Business Rate:
Minimum bill ..... $14.35
Rates per MCF for all MCF ..... $3.21
Large Business Rate:
Minimum bill ..... $103.52
Rates per MCF for all MCF ..... $3.21
d.
The rate for the city shall be the following amount per meter:
Minimum bill ..... $14.89
Rates per MCF for all MCF ..... $0.05
2.
Connection/disconnection.
a.
Residential consumer shall pay $25.00 per service trip to connect or disconnect from the gas system.
b.
Commercial consumers shall pay $25.00 per service trip to connect or to disconnect from the gas system.
c.
The gas system connection/disconnection fee shall be waived if a consumer is having his water connected or disconnected at the same time and is paying a trip fee for that service.

Gas rates for consumers of gas outside the corporate limits of the city shall be two times the corresponding rate within the corporate limits.
4.
The unit price of gas in the above consumer gas shall be adjusted, either plus or minus, by the amount the average unit gas-rate cost of gas to the city of the month in which such gas is delivered is over or under $0.35 per 1,000 cubic feet.

An applicant for city gas service shall deposit with the city the sum of $100.00 as security for the payment of charges, unless other credit arrangements are approved by the city council. If a consumer who has deposited security with the city timely pays all charges for gas service for a period of 24 months, at the expiration of such period the security deposit shall be returned to the consumer. If a consumer who has deposited security with the city requests termination of service the charges due, if any from the date of last billing to the date of termination shall be deducted from the security and the balance refunded to the consumer.
