§ 12.36.070. Use regulations.

  • A.

    This section prescribes rules for the use of the Grand Opera House.

    B.

    A licensee may not use the facility for any purpose between the hours of one a.m. and eight a.m. on a licensed date.

    C.

    A licensee may not sell, offer for sale, or serve any alcoholic beverage in or on the facility, and may not permit a guest, invitee, or other person over whom the licensee has control or authority to bring an alcoholic beverage into or on the facility.

    D.

    A licensee may not present an obscene performance or display or distribute obscene materials or devices in the facility.

    E.

    A licensee may not simultaneously televise or broadcast a performance, lecture, or concert without the prior written permission of the city manager, which may be conditioned on the payment of an additional license fee.

    F.

    The city manager shall promulgate rules for the attendance of city police officers at licensed uses, for the safety and protection of persons and property. If the rules require the attendance of one or more police officers at the use, the licensee must, as a condition to the issuance of the license, pay to the city, in addition to the license fee and security deposit, an amount equal to the gross compensation to be paid by the city to the police officer or officers for that duty.

    G.

    A licensee may not use or employ persons who are not qualified stagehands for the operation of stage equipment and properties, and if the work of an electrician is required, the licensee may not use or employ a person who is not a licensed electrician.
