Chapter 12.28. CIVIC CENTER |
§ 12.28.090. Special rates, city and school use.
A.
The civic center manager may offer reduced rates as an incentive to attract or retain large groups or events. It is the intent of this provision that such incentive is limited, and no group or event is entitled to receive reduced rates on an ongoing basis.
B.
The city council by formal action may grant free or reduced fee use to an individual, organization, or group if such use is deemed to be for a specific non-commercial benefit to the city at-large or the use complements or supports an activity or program in which the city is engaged.
C.
Training events and professional association meetings put on by local or regional groups at which city employees are major participants and the city is a designated sponsor may use the civic center free of charge, as approved by the city manager. The appropriate deposit fee still applies, refundable as otherwise provided in this chapter.
D.
The city may use the civic center for its own official events under such terms and conditions as may be determined by the city council or city manager.
