§ 10.36.100. Handheld mobile telephone use in active school zones.

A.

The city shall enforce House Bill 55, V.T.C.A., Transportation Code § 545.425, as amended, banning handheld mobile telephone usage in active school zones and said state law cited above is hereby adopted as part of this Code as if set out at length herein and it is unlawful for any person to violate any provision of such law cited above within the city.

B.

Penalty. Any person violating any of the provisions of this section shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction may be fined as provided in subsection 1.12.010 B. of this Code.
