§ 9.08.010. Fair housing—Declaration of policy.

Latest version.
  • A.

It is the policy of the city that each person be able to obtain housing without regard to race, color, creed, religion, sex, national origin, physical or mental handicap, marital status, parenthood or age.

    B.

The foregoing policy is established in recognition of the inalienable right of each person to obtain housing without regard to race, color, creed, religion, sex, national origin, physical or mental handicap, marital status, parenthood or age and in recognition that the denial of such right upon any of those considerations is detrimental to the health, safety and welfare of the residents of the city and constitutes an unjust denial or deprivation of such right, which is within the power and proper responsibility of government to prevent.
