§ 2.40.010. Creation—Composition—Term of office—Organization—Rules and regulations.
A.
The parks advisory board is created and established.
B.
The parks advisory board will be composed of nine appointed members. The members shall be appointed by the mayor subject to confirmation by the city council.
C.
A member of the parks advisory board, including the chairperson, serves for a term of two years, except that the parks advisory board shall initially consist of four members appointed for a one-year term and five members appointed for a two-year term and the board members shall select their first chairperson from one of the five members who have been appointed for a two-year term. Thereafter, members will serve until their successors are appointed and qualified.
D.
The parks advisory board shall select from among its members a chairperson and a vice chairperson. The parks advisory board shall select from among its members a secretary who shall keep a record of all meetings of the board. The board shall set times and places of its meetings.
E.
The parks advisory board shall adopt such rules and regulations governing its proceedings as it may deem proper. The rules shall not be inconsistent with the ordinances of the city.
F.
The Uvalde Civic Center and the Uvalde Fairgrounds are not to be under the supervision and jurisdiction of the parks advisory board and are not to be a component of and under the parks advisory board.
