§ 18.01.040. Appointment of historic preservation officer.

  • The city manager shall appoint a historic preservation officer (HPO) who meets the Secretary of Interior Professional Qualifications Standards. This officer shall administer this section and advise the historic preservation board (HPB) on matters submitted to it. The HPO shall approve signage that meets the requirements of the historic preservation design guidelines. In addition to serving as representative to the HPB, the officer is responsible for coordinating the city's preservation activities with those of state and federal agencies and with local, state and national nonprofit preservation organizations.
