Chapter 15.56. INTERNATIONAL ZONING CODE ADOPTED |
§ 15.56.030. Amendments.
The following sections of the International Zoning Code are hereby revised:
Section 101.1. Insert: City of Uvalde
Section 101.2 Insert: in accordance with the comprehensive plan.
Section 102.1 Insert: An application for a zoning amendment or a variance from zoning ordinance must be accompanied by a fee of $200.00.
Section 107.2 Insert: five member and two alternates who shall serve in the absence of one or more regular members when requested to do so by the mayor or city manager. Delete: Additionally one member of the commission shall be appointed as liaison to the board. Such member shall have the right to attend all meetings and take part in all discussions, but shall not vote on board decisions.
Section 107.9 Insert: The concurring vote of four members of the board is necessary to reverse any order, requirement, decision, determination or interpretation by the code official or grant a variance.
Section 108 Delete
Section 109.1 Insert: Before the 10th day before the hearing date, written notice of each public hearing before the zoning commission on a proposed change in a zoning classification shall be sent to each owner of real property within 200 feet of the property on which the change in classification is proposed.
Section 109.2.1. Remove the word "examiner."
Section 109.2.2. Insert: within 30 days
Section 111.2 Delete: 180 days. Insert 365 days
Section 202
Add: BED AND BREAKFAST. An accommodation offered by an inn, or especially a private residence home, consisting of several rooms which are set aside for overnight guests whose paid accommodations include breakfast.
GUNS, FIREARMS AND/OR GUNSMITHING. The activity of repairing, refinishing, modifying and/or customizing a gun and/or firearm of any type but not for the purpose of sale, resale or trade.
HISTORIC PRESERVATION DESIGN GUIDELINES. The Design Standards and Guidelines for the Historic Districts within the City of Uvalde, Texas as adopted an approved by the HPB, the commission and the council.
HISTORIC PRESERVATION OVERLAY DISTRICTS. Areas designated as "H" historic preservation overlay districts, as provided by section 18.01.050 hereof and shown accordingly on the zoning map for the city, shall be subject to the regulations of the historic preservation design guidelines and chapter 18.01 historic preservation ordinance, which are intended to further the purposes of the "H" historic preservation overlay district.
HPB. Historic preservation board as authorized by Chapter 18.01, historic preservation.
Insert: HOME OCCUPATION. Home occupations include art studios dressmaking, professional offices of doctors, dentists, lawyers, engineers, architects, accountants, salespersons, real estate agents, insurance agents and music studios.
STREET. Change 16 to 30.
Insert: YARD. Where there is an alley, the depth of the rear yard may be considered to extend to the center line of the alley.

3.5Section 1002 Definitions
Insert: ELECTRONIC MESSAGE SIGN OR CENTER Such signs shall not exceed brightness level of 0.3 candles above ambient light. In all zoning districts such signs shall come equipped with automatic dimming technology, which automatically adjusts the signs brightness based on ambient light.
Section 1008.1.1. Replace with: Every multiple-family residential complex, commercial or industrial building and every separate nonresidential building in a residential zone may display wall signs per street frontage subject to limiting standards set forth in Table 1008.1.1 (1). For shopping centers, planned industrial parks or other multiple occupancy nonresidential buildings, the building face or wall shall be calculated separately for each separate occupancy.
