Article I. Vacant Structures in the Central Business District, Historic Districts, and Vacant Designated Historic Landmarks |
§ 15.40.010. Definitions.
The following words, terms, and phrases, when used in this article, shall have the meanings ascribed to them in this section, except where the context clearly indicates a different meaning:
Central business district is located as noted on zoning maps as B3.
Historic district means an area designated as such through approved means by city council, state or federal authority, and as previously defined and adopted in this Code.
Historic landmark means an individual structure or property, which has been designated as such through approved means by city council, state or federal authority, and as previously defined and adopted in this Code.
Lawful activity is that the current use of the structure is also that which the structure was built for or intended to be used for by an authorized person.
Owner means any person, agent, firm, partnership or corporation having a legal interest in the property.
Secured means that all accessible means of ingress and egress to the vacant structure, including but not limited to all exterior doorways and windows are locked so as to prevent unauthorized entry by vagrants and criminals.
Structure means that which is built or constructed.
Temporarily secured means that all accessible means of ingress and egress to the vacant structure, including but not limited to all exterior doorways and windows are covered with plywood which has been nailed or bolted in place so as to prevent unauthorized entry by vagrants and criminals.
Vacant structure means that all lawful activity has ceased, or reasonably appears to have ceased for 12 months.
