§ 12.24.010. Park hours.

  • A.

    Public parks within the city are open for use daily between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and midnight.

    B.

    A person or organization may apply to the city permit office for a permit extending the hours of use of a park. The application must be accompanied by the fee prescribed by the city council, and must be on the form promulgated by the city. The city permit office shall issue the permit upon receipt of an application and fee if the proposed uses for:

    1.

    A community-wide celebration, fair, or exhibition which is not otherwise prohibited by this Code, to which the public is invited and which is not for private commercial gain; or

    2.

    The celebration or commemoration of a local, state or federal holiday or a day generally celebrated or commemorated by any ethnic group in observance or recognition of a tradition or holiday in its country of origin, which is not primarily for private commercial gain.

    C.

    The hours of use of a public park may not be extended beyond 2:00 a.m. on the day following a day for which the application is made.

    D.

    A person commits an offense if the person enters a public park when the park is not open for use. An offense under this subsection is punishable as provided in Section 1.12.010 of this Code.
