§ 4. Exemption of city from execution sale, garnishment, etc.

All property, real, personal and mixed, belonging to the City of Uvalde shall be exempt from sale or appropriation under any writ of execution nor shall be funds belonging to the city in the hands of any person be liable to garnishment, nor shall the city or any of its officers or agents be required to answer any writ of garnishment served upon or issued against it and the failure so to do shall not entail any liability upon the city or the officer or agent so served. However, the mayor the city may, if he elected so to do in his discretion, answer any writ of garnishment for the city.
