§ 3. Termination of tenure; selection of successor.

If the person sought to be removed shall at such election be recalled, his tenure of office shall terminate upon the determination of the result of the election by the city council who shall examine, count and canvass the returns and declare the results in the same manner as provided in the election of a mayor and councilmen, and provisions shall at once be made for the selection or election of a successor to fill the vacancy as elsewhere provided in this Charter.
